Stone Creek

Role

Description

Shortly after the release of Contagion the team was busy preparing to add workshop support to the game and because of that I chose to spend some of my free time into designing a small level to release alongside the workshop.

The map is a combination of the Escape, Extraction and Flatline game modes.

At that time Stone Creek was not an official map and none of the other team members have worked on it. It went under the name of Stone Creek Valley.

A month after it's release on the Workshop it was decided to turn the map into an official one and it was renamed to simply Stone Creek.

Stone Creek was my way of saying thanks to the community for all their support.

Players are meant to complete a few objectives and prepare for the zombie horde to come-a-knocking while boarding up the house and waiting around 20 minutes before the extraction vehicle arrives.

It was a fun personal experiment and one of the most succesful maps released on our workshop with over 7,300 subscribers.

The idea behind Stone Creek Valley was simple. Create a small map where cooperative team play was paramount to surviving the zombie horde.

The map is designed in a way that zombies can literally come from anywhere. The players are confined to the front and back yard and the house itself where they are able to barricade themselves in while zombies are pouring in from the forest area.

This neat little set up makes for an incredible tense sessions and can be quite exhausting. Player survivors cannot let their guard down or they'll fail and die.
